About the Program

Masters in Development Studies (MDS) program has been designed considering in mind the requirements of the public sector and the NGOs in managing and implementing development projects efficiently. It is a multi-disciplinary program aimed at producing graduates who understand development theories and practices, and are able to analyze problems of underdevelopment, conceptualize development problems, design need-oriented development projects, negotiate development funds with donors, and manage development projects with confidence. Students come from a variety of backgrounds including business, economics, engineering, humanities and social science. For MDS degree, a student has to complete 39 credits, with 12 courses of 3 credits each and Thesis/Internship/ Research paper of 03 credits including a viva-voce. Students have to complete 04 (four) foundation courses and 08 (eight) core courses..

Admission Requirements

Students who have a Bachelor Degree with Honors (3/4 Years) from any recognized university can get admission. The applicant with BA (pass) can also get admission if she/he has a Master’s degree or long (at least 06 years) working experiences in development field. A student who already has a master’s degree can also apply.
